Marc Katz & family on the passing of his mother, Gerrie Katz, z"l. The funeral took place Friday at Judean Memorial Gardens in Olney. Shiva will be observed at the Katz home, 704 Lamberton Drive, through Thursday morning. The family requests no visitors between 12:00 noon and 1:00pm, between 6:00pm and 7:00pm or after 10:00pm. Minyan schedule is as follows: Shacharis: Sunday: 8:00am; Monday/Thursday: 6:45am; Tuesday/Wednesday: 7:00am. Mincha/Maariv: Sunday through Wednesday: 4:35pm.

YISE YOUTH ANOUNCEMENTS

The Youth Minyan will start at 9:15am in the small side of the Social Hall.

Youth Groups will meet this Shabbos at 10am. 1st – 4th grade girls meet upstairs in the small Beis Medrash; 1st – 4th grade boys at the Yeshiva (meet in the YISE downstairs lobby at 10am to walk across); 2-5 year olds meet in the large Youth room behind the women`s balcony. Pick up the 2-5 year olds in the large Youth room and the 1st-4th graders in the small Youth room.

Rabbi Rosenbaum`s Shiur for 6th-8th grade boys meets 1 hour before Shabbos Mincha.

The first Dor L`Dor of the season is this week! All families are invited to come and join in the YISE Arcola Social Hall Motzei Shabbos, Nov. 13, 7pm for family chevrusah-style learning, pizza, and prizes! To sponsor this program, call Michael Shimoff, 301-592-1606.

Join us for the Annual YISE Youth & Nursery School Chanukah Party and Gift Sale, Sunday, Nov. 21 at the YISE Nursery, 811 University Blvd., 1 to 4pm. $5 per child with no admission fee for adults. This is a community-wide event.

Chanukah Family Game Night! Parents and children in grades 3-6 are invited to a fun evening of exciting games, cool prizes, and delicious treats. WEEKDAY SHIURIM

The Monthly Melava Malka Tanach series continues this Motzei Shabbas, Nov. 13, at 8:30pm. It will include a shiur by Rabbi Rosenbaum on the Torah personality of Eisav. The program will take place at the Mendelson home (Warwick Apartments, #220). This popular shiur is open to the entire community. Light refreshments provided by the host family.

Rabbi Zev Katz`s Wednesday morning Chumash class, previously taught by Rabbi Anemer, z"l, meets at 11am in the small Beis Medrash at Arcola.

Rabbi Moshe Arzouan`s Wednesday evening Advanced Men`s Gemara shiur, previously taught by Rabbi Anemer, z"l, meets at 7:30pm, after Maariv at University Blvd.

Rabbi Rosenbaum has started a new Gemara shiur for men, Tuesday and Friday mornings in the Arcola social hall from 6:00-6:45. The shiur will cover Gemara, Rashi, and Tosfos with a look at the practical halachic conclusions drawn from the sugyos. It will begin with the third perek of Meseches Shabbos. The Women`s Group studying "Practical Applications of the Chafetz Chaim & Insights of the Parsha through the Eyes of Rav Pam" will meet this Shabbos at the home of Mrs. Klavan, 1106 Arcola Avenue, 4pm.

Snif Bnei Akiva meets this week at KMS at 3pm. A walking group will leave from YISE at 2:30pm, and will return at 4:30pm. All 3rd-6th graders are welcome.

How to pay for long-term care – Bikur Cholim`s Eldercare Program series. Learn the basics about long-term care insurance: whom it`s for, what it costs, etc. Speakers include Baruch Wertenteil from the Wertenteil Agency and Michael Lachance, from the Maryland Department of Aging. Kashrut Alert – Brunswick Sardines in Oil – Several consumers reported finding krill (a small crustacean similar in appearance to a small shrimp) in some cans of Brunswick Sardines in Oil. The product code of the cans in question is 0215CB Best by Aug 2015. Consumers are advised to contact the Orthodox Union to report such findings, and to contact Bumble Bee Seafoods for a refund.
