YISE Youth Announcements
The Youth Minyan will meet this Shabbos at 9:15 AM sharp in the Small Beis Medrash.

2-5 year-olds 9:30 AM – end of 8:45 minyan in the youth rooms behind the Balcony. 1st-4th grade 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM at the Yeshiva. Walking group leaves at 10:00 AM. Girls meet in the main lobby. Boys meet outside the Social Hall. Please pick up child(ren) promptly.
Tot Shabbat – with Suri Kinzbrunner 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM in the toddler room for ages 2 and under.
There are no Groups on Yom Kippur. Yom Kippur babysitting is filled to capacity.

Selichos Schedule – All Ashkenazi morning Minyanim will have Selichos at the listed time, followed immediately by Shacharis. The 1st and 3rd Minyanim each day will take place in the Social Hall and the 2nd and 4th Minyanim will take place in the Belonofsky Sanctuary.
Bikur Cholim of Greater Washington and the YISE Chesed Committee – Rabbi Koss will be speaking on a topic in Jewish history, Monday, October 7, from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at 1111 University Blvd. West in the Penthouse. High Holiday Helping Hands – The Nusach Sefard Minyan needs volunteers to set up the party room at University Towers for Yom Kippur. Plan to meet at 10:00 AM Tuesday in the YISE Lower Lobby.
Help Build the YISE Sukkah – The shul needs volunteers to help set up the sukkah, on Thursday, October 10, between 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM. All are welcome to help, but it is especially appropriate for people to help who intend to use the Sukkah at any time during the Chag. Kristallnacht Commemoration – Sunday, November 3, 7:30 PM at YISE. In commemoration of Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, YISE and KMS will be hosting Mrs. Halina Silber, a survivor who worked in Oskar Schindler's factories during the Holocaust. Beginning at age 10, her story of survival through the war years included periods in forced labor, in the Slomniki Ghetto and in Auschwitz. Please join us to hear Mrs. Silber's story and to mark the 81st anniversary of Kristallnacht. Children ages 12 and above are encouraged to attend with their parents. Helping Hands Across Kemp Mill is a part of YISE's Chesed Committee. The program is a service to help members undergoing serious medical crises. We are always looking for volunteers to help. Men's Mikvah for Erev Yom Kippur – The Mikvah Emunah Society is pleased to announce that the Wallerstein Mikvah, 913 Grays Lane, will be open for men's use on Erev Yom Kippur, Tuesday, October 8, from 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM. Please arrive no later than 2:15 PM. Please bring your own towel. Showering beforehand would be appreciated and helpful. Fees: $20 for men. $10 for children and full-time students. Cash or checks only. Full Members of MES ($360 or more per year) are entitled to free use.
Additional contributions to support MES are appreciated. Our famous "bend and bow" kneeling cloths (V'anachnu Korim) to put on the floor to use during the High Holiday Davening will once again be for sale at the Mikvah for $18 each or 2 for $30. Eruv Appeal – The annual appeal to raise funds for the operation and maintenance of the White Oak-Northwood-Kemp Mill-Wheaton Eruv has been mailed. But, even if you did not receive the appeal in the mail, you can still support the Eruv. The requested donation is $54 per household (smaller or larger donations are gratefully accepted). Donations should be made only by check and mailed only to Eruv Fund, 707 Lamberton Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20902. To be tax deductible, the check should be payable to "YISE Eruv Fund." (Note that YISE makes 100% of these funds available to the Silver Spring Eruv Association for the Eruv.)

Capital Kosher Pantry – The shelves at Yad Yehuda's Capital Kosher Pantry need restocking. Please help us replenish the foods so very needed by your friends and neighbors. Items most needed at this time include: Almond or soy milk, apple juice, canned fruit, cereals, granola/snack bars, healthy grains (farro, rice mixes), juice packs, pancake syrup, pareve crackers, pasta sauce, pizza sauce, rice cakes and vegetarian baked beans. Sefer Torah for Misaskim of Greater Washington – Misaskim provides families with all that is necessary for Shiva. It does not, however, have its own Sefer Torah for use exclusively in Shiva homes. Providing a Sefer Torah has strained the resources of our shuls, especially when there are multiple Shiva homes. Rabbi Zvi and Mrs. Esti Teitelbaum have launched a campaign to raise funds for a Sefer Torah in memory of their daughter, Chayala,A"H., who was Nifteres several months ago.
