New YISE Cholim List – Beginning Shabbos, March 19, we'll start using a new cholim list. Names must be given to Esther Edeson, 301-593-4465, ext. 402, or, even if they are on the list already. The new list will be renewed bi-monthly, on the first and fifteenth. Names that should remain on the list must be submitted before then.

Siyum Tanach in Honor of Rav Anemer, zt"l, on his Yahrzeit

The YISE Adult Education Committee is coordinating the effort, which will culminate with a Siyum Tanach around the time of the Rav's yahrzeit, Rosh Chodesh Iyar (May 5). The Committee has divided the Tanach into 133 sections. Sign up online at, or call Bob Levi, 301-593-2399, to register for a particular section. Individuals, couples, families, or chavrusas can sign-up! Learn a section of Tanach that you have yet to learn, or study a favorite section with the assistance of a new commentary. A third of the sections have already been claimed — so act now!

PURIM CARNIVAL! The YISE Youth Department invites the entire community to an exciting evening at our annual Family Purim Celebration and Carnival, which will take place in our Arcola Social Hall Motzei Shabbos, March 19. Ma'ariv and Megilla will begin promptly at 8:30pm with festivities to follow. Please join us for awesome carnival games, lots of cool prizes, cotton candy, popcorn, pizza, and LOTS of FUN!! Rabbi Rosenbaum's Shiur for 6th-8th grade boys will meet this Shabbos 1 hour before Mincha.

A Shloshim for Rabbi Zecharya Mines, z"l, will take place, iy"h, on Saturday evening, March 12, at 9:00 p.m. in the Belonofsky Bais Medrash of the Yeshiva of Greater Washington. Rabbi Mines, a brother-in-law of Rabbi Anemer, z"l, was a greatly influential rebbi at the Yeshiva in its early years, and also was the Baal Musaf on Yamim Noraim at YISE for several years.
