Youth Announcements

All Youth Minyanim this week are cancelled.

Please join us this week for groups: 2-5 year-olds meet in the youth room behind the balcony. Groups for 1st-4th grades are cancelled for this Shabbos. Groups run 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM. Please pick up child(ren) promptly.

The YISE Youth Department Invites The Entire Community to the Annual Chanukah Party Celebration. Sunday December 1. 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM. Activities for Preschool and Young Elementary Ages Include: Cool Arts and Crafts! Special Projects! Candle Lighting! Donut Decorating! Delicious Snacks! Scavenger Hunt! Entertainment! And More! Parking Announcement Entertainment!

The Shopping Center wants to thank everyone for being safe and parking in the designated part of the Ben Yehuda lot. They request that you do not park in the spaces directly next to Ben Yehuda (from the flower bed to the light post) so that the center employees will have a place to park. If you find that there are no open spaces in our area please park behind Ben Yehuda.

Bikur Cholim of Greater Washington and the YISE Chesed Committee – Program scheduled for Monday, December 2, has been cancelled. The next program will be on Monday, January 6.

Community Service Day – Come do a Chesed in conjunction with the DCJCC on December 25. Cosponsored by YISE, KMS, and MJBHA. Two options: 1. Paint the Mary's Center in Silver Spring from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. (The Center provides health care, family literacy and social services to 24,000 individuals.) Children under 15 need adult supervision. 2. Visit the Fannie and Elias Gellman Home (Jewish Foundation for Group Homes) in Silver Spring from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Children under 15 need adult supervision. Visit www.yise.org/chesed to sign up. Note there is a $10 tax-deductible fee per person. Help make a Minyan! – We are looking for volunteers who would like to participate in the Mitzvah of helping to make a Minyan three or four times per year. We are putting together a list in order to form a rotation to help the University Blvd. Shul make a Mincha/Maariv Minyan on Fridays and Shabbos days when they anticipate a shortfall. The Rachel Bassan Horwitz Fund is used for medical needs in our area, elsewhere in the US, and in Israel. Thousands of dollars have been distributed to individuals requiring assistance. Rally to Free Alan Gross – A freedom vigil will be held Tuesday, December 3, at 12:00 noon in Lafayette Park in front of the White House to call on the Obama administration to take meaningful steps to free Alan Grosse from a Cuban prison. A member of the Washington-area Jewish community, Alan was arrested and imprisoned by Cuban authorities 4 years ago for his work on a U.S. government project to increase internet access in Cuba's Jewish community, and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Be there and add your voice to the call for immediate, concrete, and effective action by our government to bring Alan home.

GWCK's Annual Chanukah Mesibah – A festive celebration featuring live music and dancing, delicious Chanukah food, a magic show for children, and inspiring words of Torah from Rabbi Aaron Lopiansky. At the Kollel on Tuesday, December, 3, at 7:00 PM.
