Kemp Mill Community Krystallnacht Program 7:30pm, Nov. 7

"Into the Arms of Strangers," a feature length documentary about the Kindertransport will be presented at 7:30 pm Sunday, Nov. 7 in the YISE Social Hall. This program, presented as an adjunct to Yom HaShoah program last April, is sponsored by the YISE/KMS Holocaust Committee.

YISE YOUTH ANOUNCEMENTS

The Youth Minyan will start at 9:15am in the small side of the Social Hall.

The Youth Minyan Kiddush is sponsored by the Youth Minyan Kiddush Group.

Youth Groups will meet this Shabbos at 10am. 1st – 4th grade girls meet upstairs in the small Beis Medrash; 1st – 4th grade boys at the Yeshiva (meet in the YISE downstairs lobby at 10am to walk across); 2-5 year olds meet in the large Youth room behind the women`s balcony. Pick up the 2-5 year olds in the large Youth room and the 1st-4th graders in the small Youth room.

Shabbos Groups will be doing a practice fire drill at l0:30am.

Rabbi Rosenbaum`s Shiur for 6th-8th grade boys meets on Shabbos 1 hour before Mincha.

The Greater Washington Community Kollel in conjunction with YISE Adult Education Committee presents Linas Hatzedek, a program dedicated to elucidating the laws of interpersonal conduct. Sunday mornings at YISE. Shacharis at 8:45am, chavrusah style learning with a Kollel Rabbi from 9:30 – 10:15am.

Friday Night Oneg Shabbos Is Back – This Friday Night – Oct. 29 -The Katzoffs (1111 Arcola Ave) – 9pm – Join your neighbors at this popular monthly Friday night shiur by Rabbi Rosenbaum. Each program covers a Halachic aspect of Shabbos followed by an Oneg Shabbos – This month`s Shiur: Memachaik (Smoothing: including halachos of rubbing soaps, creams, etc.).

Starting November 2, Rabbi Rosenbaum will be giving a Gemara shiur for men on Tuesday and Friday mornings in the Arcola social hall from 6:00-6:45. The shiur will cover Gemara, Rashi, and Tosfos with a look at the practical halachic conclusions drawn from the sugyos. It will begin with the third perek of Meseches Shabbos. The Mikvah Emunah Society, in conjunction with the opening of the new mikvah, will host two scholars at KMS. Rabbanit Chana Henkin will be speaking Shabbos, Oct. 30, at 4:00 pm, on "The Centrality of Mikvah in Jewish Life." Rabbi Dr. Shlomo Riskin will be at KMS on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 pm, making a presentation on "Tumah, Tahara, and Parah Adumah. What Do They Mean for Our Generation?"
