Stanley Goldschmidt and Miriam Lisbon on the passing of their mother, and Sylvia Dorfman on the passing of her sister, Freda Goldschmidt, z"l. Burial was in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Adelphi. Miriam will be sitting Shiva fthrough Monday morning in Surfside, Florida. Stanley will be sitting Shiva at his home, 808 Lamberton Drive, through Monday, Jan. 2. The Goldschmidts request no visitors between 6pm and 7pm or after 10pm. Minyan schedule at the Goldschmidt home is as follows: Mincha/Maariv: Sunday, 4:35pm. Shacharis: Sunday, Monday(New Years), 8am.

The next installment of Rabbi Rosenbaum's Friday Night Oneg shuir will be Friday, Jan. 6, 8pm at the Lazar home, 1213 Arcola Ave. The shiur will address hilchos Ani Ha'mehapech B'chararah. Current topics revolve around business halachos. Refreshments provided by the host family.

YISE YOUTH ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Youth Minyan will meet this Shabbos at 9:15am in the small Social Hall.

The Youth Minyan Shabbos Chanukah Kiddush is sponsored by the Youth Minyan supporters in honor of our outstanding youth.

YISE Shabbos groups 2 – 5 year-olds meet in the youth room behind the balcony; Girls 1st – 4th grade meet in the Small Beis Medrash; Boys 1st – 4th grade gather outside the Social Hall and walk over to the Yeshiva. Groups are from 10am – 11:15am. Please pick your child(ren) up promptly.

Rabbi Rosenbaum's mussar (spiritual self-improvement) study group for women, based on the work "Alei Shur" by Rav Wolbe, will meet this Sunday.

Rabbi Rosenbaum's Mishna Brurah shiur for men meets Sunday night at his home. For more information contact jobstfeld@yise.org.

Rabbi Rosenbaum's Men's Gemara shiur meets Tuesday & Friday mornings, Arcola Social Hall, 6:00-6:45am. The shiur covers Gemara, Rashi, and Tosfos with a look at practical halachic conclusions drawn from the sugyos. For information contact Aaron Branda at ambranda@gmail.com or Rabbi Rosenbaum.

Rabbi Rosenbaum's shiur in Tehillim meets Wednesday morning at 11 am in the Arcola Beis Medrash.

Ladies, would you like to make eating better a priority for 2012, but you just don't know where to start? Start off 2012 the right way! YISE Sisterhood is hosting an informative and fun presentation by Jennifer Reilly, Registered Dietician and author of Cooking with Trader Joe's Cookbook: Skinny Dish!, Motzai Shabbos, Jan. 7 at YISE Arcola, beginning at 8pm. Ms. Reilly will guide you through a discussion of healthy eating, prepare easy-to-make healthy dishes right before your eyes, and answer your nutrition questions. Participants will each get a taste of the delicious items prepared during the presentation. You'll leave the event with a better understanding of nutrition and with recipes to help you begin your journey to eating better. $10 with an RSVP and $12 at the door.
