Siyum Tanach in Honor of Rav Anemer, zt"l, on his Yahrzeit – The YISE Adult Education Committee is coordinating the effort, which will culminate with a Siyum Tanach, around the time of the Rav's yahrzeit, Rosh Chodesh Iyar (May 5). The Committee has divided the Tanach into 133 sections. You may sign up online at www.yise.org, or call Bob Levi, 301-593-2399, to register for a particular section. Individuals, couples, families, or chavrusas can sign-up for one or more of the Tanach sections to study. You are encouraged to learn a section of Tanach that you have yet to learn, or study a favorite section with the assistance of a new commentary. Within only a few days of the online signup being posted, almost 1/3 of the sections have already been claimed — so act now!

March 7 Pre-Purim program from Bikur Cholim and the YISE Chesed Committee – Rabbi Koss will speak on topics in Jewish history from 1:30pm – 2:30pm at 1121 University Blvd. W., apt. 519 (Mrs. Marion Baras's apartment). Dor L'Dor – The YISE Youth Department invites the entire community to the final Dor L'Dor of the season, Motzei Shabbos, March 5. Purim Carnival! The YISE Youth Department presents our annual Purim Carnival Extravaganza, in the Arcola Social Hall, Motzei Shabbos, March 19. A Shloshim for Rabbi Zecharya Mines, z"l, will take place, iy"h, on Saturday evening, March 12, at 9:00 p.m. in the Belonofsky Bais Medrash of the Yeshiva of Greater Washington. Rabbi Mines, a brother-in-law of Rabbi Anemer, z"l, was a greatly influential rebbi at the Yeshiva in its early years, and also was the Baal Musaf on Yamim Noraim at YISE for several years. This gathering is being planned for former talmidim and friends in the DC-Baltimore area, in addition to one on Thursday evening, March 10, in Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim in Queens, NY. Year-round Assistance and Matanos L'evyonim – Donations to the Yehuda Mond Foundation and the Tomchei Shabbos of Greater Washington help individuals and families in need, year round, and are a meaningful way to both honor friends and relatives and to celebrate simchas.
