Congratulations to Rabbi Sanford H. Shudnow, whose scholarly article entitled "Love Thy Neighbor: Challenging the Notion of In-Group Morality in the Bible” recently appeared in the prestigious Australian Journal of Jewish Studies, Vol. XXIV, published by the Australian Association of Jewish Studies.

*Save the Date: Women's Seudah Shlishit – August 13*

Please join the YISE Sisterhood for its Summer Women`s Seudah Shlishit, Shabbos Nachamu afternoon, Aug. 13, 5pm-7pm, in the YISE Arcola Social Hall. The theme of the seudah is "Sensational Summers." Attendees will enjoy pareve picnic foods while meeting and mingling with other women from the community. We will discuss the many facets of summer and those who wish can share their most treasured summer memories. A summer-themed dvar Torah will follow. Summer desserts and drinks will conclude the program. All women are welcome and encouraged to attend! We request no children under the age of 12 years old.

The YISE Safety Committee has placed 3 emergency phones around the Shul: one upstairs near the shul office under the sink, one near the kitchen under the sink in the social hall, and one in the First Aid kit under the tallesim near the Belonofsky Sanctuary. These phones only call 911.
