Assistant Rabbi Candidate Visits

The YISE Board and Rabbi Rosenbaum have approved three potential candidates for the position of Assistant Rabbi. The candidates will each visit YISE for one weekend.

Schedule for each candidate visit:

  • Candidate will daven at the 8:00am minyan (brief Dvar Torah) & attend the Kiddush);
  • give a 12-15 minute Dvar Torah after the 8:45am minyan (no earlier than 10:45) & attend the Kiddush;
  • teach a Shiur between regular Mincha & Maariv on Shabbos;

  • Attend a Meet & Greet in the Social Hall on Sunday from 9:30am – 10:00am, followed by a Q & A session with the Congregation from 10:00am to 11:00am.

Questions may be submitted in advance by email to or in writing at the event so we can assure a range of questions for each candidate. Voting will occur after the last candidate’s visit. Details on election (time, place, procedure) will be announced at a later time. Please meet all the candidates if possible.

A more extended biography of each candidate will be available in the shul lobbies on Friday of each visit (as well as Shabbos and Sunday). We are including a brief, abridged, selection on each candidate.
